Packaging Optimizer

A Content Lab tool that audits title, thumbnail, and SEO packaging for maximum CTR — then returns a 0–100 Packaging Optimizer Score with improved titles, thumbnail concepts, and an actionable checklist.

Overview

Packaging Optimizer sits in Content Lab under Creative Optimization. Open the dashboard sidebar menu: Go Viral → Content Lab (creator account, desktop), load a public or unlisted YouTube video, then run Packaging Optimizer. Each run costs 3 AI credits — the same cost as other Content Lab video-analysis tools.

This is an AI packaging / CTR-optimization estimate. It is not a guaranteed CTR lift, not YouTube Analytics, and not a promise that applying the checklist will hit a specific click rate.

How to run

  1. 1Sign in as a creator. In the dashboard sidebar menu, open Go Viral → Content Lab (desktop).
  2. 2Import a video: paste a public or unlisted YouTube URL, pick one from your vault, or use a video saved via the Wayo Ads Saver extension.
  3. 3In Creative Optimization, choose Packaging Optimizer and run it (3 credits).
  4. 4Read the three sub-scores (progress bars + radar), the overall Packaging Optimizer Score, the one-line verdict, improved titles, thumbnail concepts, SEO suggestions, A/B tests, and the actionable checklist.
You receive 100 free credits when your token wallet is created. Credits are deducted only after a successful analysis result. Title and thumbnail are the primary packaging signals; transcript mainly helps keyword and description ideas when captions are available.

What it uses

On each run, the backend builds a video context block and sends it with the analysis prompt. Packaging optimization primarily relies on title, thumbnail, and metadata — plus transcript when available for keyword opportunities.

  • Title and channel name (current packaging + niche cues)
  • Engagement stats when present: views, likes, comments
  • Metadata when present: video type (e.g. Short vs long), duration, publish date

Fetched when available

  • Thumbnail description generated from the video thumbnail image (visual audit)
  • Spoken transcript / captions (search keyword opportunities; trimmed for length)
Without a transcript, the tool still optimizes packaging with equal confidence and does not mention the absence. It relies on title, thumbnail, and metadata. Without a thumbnail description, it recommends best-practice thumbnail strategies for the niche and title style.

Scoring framework

The model scores three pillars for the UI bars and radar, then produces one overall Packaging Optimizer Score (0–100). A/B testing recommendations and the checklist frame the analysis — not a separate calculator in the UI. Unlike some Lab tools, this prompt does not assign fixed percentage weights.

Current Title Audit

  • Length optimization (ideal: 40–60 chars)
  • Front-loaded hook quality
  • Power word presence
  • Search intent alignment
  • Provide 3 improved title alternatives

Current Thumbnail Audit

  • Visual hierarchy assessment
  • Text readability at mobile scale
  • Emotional expression effectiveness
  • Color contrast and composition
  • Provide 3 specific visual improvement suggestions (or niche best practices if no thumbnail description)

SEO Optimization

  • Recommended tags (15–20)
  • Description optimization template
  • Search keyword opportunities
  • Hashtag strategy

A/B Testing Recommendations

  • 2 title variants to test
  • 2 thumbnail concept variants to test
  • Expected impact on CTR

What you get

The response is markdown structured for the Content Lab result UI.

  • Three sub-scores in bold key-value form — Title Audit, Thumbnail Audit, and SEO Optimization — each as XX / 100 (progress bars + radar).
  • One overall heading: ## Packaging Optimizer Score: XX / 100, followed by a one-line final verdict and an actionable checklist.
  • Three improved title alternatives, three thumbnail concepts, and A/B testing recommendations.
  • Never empty bullet points or placeholders.
Scores and checklist items are model judgments for learning and iteration — not a guaranteed CTR lift or a copy of YouTube Analytics.

Case study

Illustrative composite scenario for documentation — not a live client report. Scores below show the tool result UI; they are model judgments, not a CTR guarantee.

Scenario

An anonymous creator pressure-tests packaging on an unlisted “how I fixed my morning routine” long-form video before going public — weak front-loaded hook and a busy thumbnail.

Context (inputs available)

  • Current title + thumbnail description as primary packaging inputs
  • Engagement stats when present (likes / comments relative to views)
  • Transcript optional — keyword and description ideas when present
  • Long-form format metadata
  • Cost: 3 AI credits

Packaging Optimizer Score

0 – 100

Title buries the payoff after 70+ characters; thumbnail text fights the face for attention — tighten both before asking SEO to carry discovery.

Improved titles

  • I Fixed My Morning Routine in 7 Days (What Actually Stuck)
  • The 7-Day Morning Fix That Stopped My 3pm Crash
  • Stop Waking Up Tired — My Exact 7-Day Morning Reset

Thumbnail concepts

  • Face left-third + one bold numeral “7” — remove secondary text.
  • Before/after split with high contrast; keep one emotion (relief).
  • Single prop (coffee mug crossed out) + short label “3pm crash”.

A/B testing

  • Title A: outcome-first (“Fixed…”) vs Title B: pain-first (“Stop Waking Up Tired”).
  • Thumb A: numeral “7” vs Thumb B: before/after split.
  • Expected impact: clearer mobile packaging often lifts CTR on browse/suggested more than tag-only changes.

Actionable checklist

  • Cut title to 40–60 chars with the payoff in the first half.
  • Rebuild thumb with one focal point and max 3–4 readable words.
  • Rewrite description first 2 lines with primary keyword + promise.
  • Add 15–20 tags mixing broad niche + specific outcome phrases.

Takeaways

  • Fix title + thumbnail as one packaging unit before expecting SEO tags to move CTR.
  • Prefer 3 concrete title and thumb options over vague “make it more clickable” advice.
  • Use A/B variants to test outcome-first vs pain-first framing — not random wording.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this guarantee a higher CTR?

No. Packaging Optimizer is an AI packaging estimate and checklist. It suggests stronger title/thumbnail/SEO options; it does not guarantee a specific CTR.

What if there is no transcript?

The analysis still runs with equal confidence and does not mention a missing transcript. Packaging optimization primarily uses title, thumbnail, and metadata.

What if there is no thumbnail description?

The tool recommends best-practice thumbnail strategies based on the content niche and title style, then still scores Thumbnail Audit from available cues.

Is this the same as Click Probability?

No. Click Probability estimates click likelihood from current packaging. Packaging Optimizer audits and rewrites title, thumbnail, and SEO with alternatives and A/B tests.

How much does one run cost?

3 AI credits per Packaging Optimizer run, same as other Content Lab video-analysis tools.
