Content Spy: Competitor research for YouTube creators
Content Spy is competitor research for the Wayo Ads Creator Suite. Open Content Spy from Go Viral → Content Spy (creator account, desktop) to run 10 AI tools on competitor videos — score packaging strength, predict click appeal, understand why viewers stay, and compare 2–3 videos side by side on one analysis at a time.
Overview
Content Spy focuses on competitor research — study what competitors publish, understand why their content performs, and get clear takeaways. Access requires a creator account — open Go Viral → Content Spy (desktop only). Import videos by pasting a public or unlisted YouTube link or picking one from your saved videos. Private videos are not supported. Videos saved via the Chrome extension appear automatically; every video you load is saved to your Wayo Ads account. Run any of the 10 AI tools on a single video, or open Compare mode to compare 2–3 videos on one tool at a time. Title & Thumbnail, CTR Comparison, and Creator Intelligence also ask for brief creative inputs (niche, tone, goals).
Quickstart
- 1Sign in with a creator account and open Go Viral → Content Spy (desktop). Import a video — paste a public or unlisted YouTube link, pick one from your saved videos, or use the Wayo Ads Saver Chrome extension.
- 2Choose one of the 10 AI tools on the loaded video. For example, run CTR Audit for a packaging strength score (0–100) on a competitor's title and thumbnail.
- 3Credit costs per run: 5 (Title & Thumbnail, CTR Comparison), 6 (CTR Audit, CTR Prediction, Retention Analysis, Retention Prediction), 8 (Expected Value, Creator Intelligence), 10 (Pattern Fusion), 15 (Viral Mechanics).
- 4To compare competitors, add 2–3 videos in Compare mode, pick one tool, and run the analysis. Cost = number of videos × tool cost (e.g. 3 videos × CTR Audit at 6 = 18 credits). The AI ranks results and highlights a winner when scores differ.
Tools
The 10 AI tools are organized into four categories. Most run on the imported video in one step; Title & Thumbnail, CTR Comparison, and Creator Intelligence open a short form first. Multi-video Compare supports all tools except Creator Intelligence (single-video only).
Packaging & Click Optimization
Audit thumbnails, predict CTR, and benchmark your packaging against competitors before you publish.

Estimates click appeal before you publish from title hooks, curiosity triggers, and niche patterns. 6 credits.
Tests your proposed title and thumbnail against a benchmark video (form inputs). 5 credits.
Retention & Engagement
Analyze what keeps viewers watching and predict drop-off points before you go live.
Evaluates intro strength, pacing, storytelling, and rewatch triggers on a published competitor video. 6 credits.
Estimates retention strength (0–100) from a pre-publish plan — opening, curiosity, pacing, pattern density, payoff — not YouTube Analytics retention. 6 credits.
Virality & Growth
Understand why viral patterns work and combine winning formats into original content strategies.
Classifies a published video into 15 viral patterns from title, captions, and thumbnail — not a virality guarantee. 15 credits.
Scores 14 packaging patterns on a published video, then synthesizes recommended blends — not the Content Lab Pattern Fusion tool. 10 credits.
Revenue & Strategy
Estimate monetization potential and generate data-driven creator roadmaps for your niche.
Estimates economic potential (0–100) from CTR, retention, conversion, and scalability — not AdSense or YouTube Studio RPM. 8 credits.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between Content Spy and Content Lab?
Content Lab is for video research and analysis — you run AI tools on any video to understand packaging, hooks, retention, and revenue. Content Spy is for competitor research — you analyze competitor videos, compare thumbnails, compare CTR and retention, and compare multiple videos side by side. Together they form the complete Go Viral Creator Suite.
Can I compare multiple videos at once?
Yes — in Compare mode, add 2–3 videos, select one tool at a time, and run the analysis. Cost = number of videos × tool cost. Results appear side by side; the AI highlights a winner when scores differ. Creator Intelligence is single-video only (not available in Compare).
Does Content Spy support the Chrome extension?
Yes. Videos saved via the Wayo Ads Saver Chrome extension appear in your Content Spy saved videos automatically. You can also import videos by pasting public or unlisted YouTube links in the search bar.
Can I analyze unlisted YouTube videos?
Yes. Paste the direct link to any unlisted video on YouTube — including your own pre-publish upload. The video must exist on YouTube (unlisted is fine); private videos and local drafts without a YouTube URL are not supported.
Can I use Content Spy before publishing my own videos?
Yes. Upload your video to YouTube as unlisted, copy the direct link, and paste it in Content Spy. Tools like CTR Prediction and Retention Prediction are designed for pre-publish use. CTR Comparison also lets you test your packaging against benchmarks before going public.
