Generate Viral Hooks

A Content Lab Quick Action that creates 3 high-performing opening hooks inspired by a video’s psychological triggers — concise, adapted wording, max 14 words each.

Overview

Generate Viral Hooks sits in Content Lab as a Quick Action (Content Generation). Open the dashboard sidebar menu: Go Viral → Content Lab (creator account, desktop), load a public or unlisted YouTube video, then click Generate Viral Hooks in the Quick Actions panel. Each run costs 3 AI credits.

This is an AI hook-generation tool. It returns ready-to-speak lines inspired by the reference video — not a retention guarantee, not YouTube Analytics, and not a copy of the original wording.

How to run

  1. 1Sign in as a creator. In the dashboard sidebar menu, open Go Viral → Content Lab (desktop).
  2. 2Import a video: paste a public or unlisted YouTube URL, pick one from your vault, or use a video saved via the Wayo Ads Saver extension.
  3. 3In the Quick Actions sidebar, click Generate Viral Hooks (3 credits).
  4. 4Read the three hooks as a bullet list — concise lines ready to adapt into your cold open.
You receive 100 free credits when your token wallet is created. Credits are deducted only after a successful result. Hooks stay under 14 words and preserve the reference trigger and energy without copying the original line.

What it uses

On each run, the API builds a short video context and sends it with the hook-strategist prompt. Psychological triggers come from title and engagement — plus a transcript snippet when available.

  • Video title (primary hook / trigger signal)
  • Channel name when present
  • Engagement stats when present: views, likes
  • Format when present: Short vs long-form

Fetched when available

  • Spoken transcript snippet (first ~2000 characters) for spoken-hook psychology
Without a transcript, the tool still generates with equal confidence and does not mention the absence. It derives psychological triggers from the title, engagement metrics, and channel positioning.

Generation rules

The model follows strict generation rules — this is not a scored analysis tool. Output is only three hooks; no long report and no score ring.

Creativity constraints

  • Be concise — no explanations
  • No emojis unless contextually relevant
  • Maintain the same psychological trigger
  • Preserve energy level
  • Adapt wording — do NOT copy

Format constraints

  • Each hook max 14 words
  • Output only a bullet list of Hook 1, Hook 2, Hook 3
  • Total response under 150 tokens

What you get

The response is a short bullet list rendered in the Quick Actions result panel.

  • Exactly three hooks as markdown bullets.
  • Each hook adapted from the reference trigger — not a verbatim copy.
  • No score breakdown, checklist, or long analysis body.
Hooks are model suggestions for testing cold opens — not a guarantee of higher retention or CTR.

Case study

Illustrative composite scenario for documentation — not a live client report. The list below shows the Quick Action result UI.

Scenario

An anonymous creator pulls three cold-open alternatives from a high-performing “I tested 5 productivity apps — four failed” video before rewriting their next script.

Context (inputs available)

  • Title with a bold-claim / stakes trigger
  • Engagement stats when present
  • Transcript snippet optional
  • Cost: 3 AI credits

Tool result

Generate Viral Hooks
Same stakes trigger, adapted wording — three cold opens under 14 words.

Hooks

  • Four of five apps wasted my week — one paid for itself.
  • I nearly quit productivity tools until one changed mornings.
  • Only one app survived my real workday stress test.

Takeaways

  • Use Generate Viral Hooks for fast cold-open options; use Improve Hook & CTA when you need scored rewrite + CTA scripts.
  • Pick the hook that keeps the same psychological trigger as the reference — then film A/B opens.
  • Keep each line under 14 words so it fits the first seconds on camera.
