Content Potential Analysis
A Content Lab tool that evaluates one YouTube video on content quality, value proposition, and viral potential — then returns a 0–100 Content Potential Score with a short written breakdown.
Overview
Content Potential Analysis sits in Content Lab under Video Analysis (button label: Predict Content Potential). Open Go Viral → Content Lab with a creator account on desktop, load a public or unlisted YouTube video, then run this tool. Each run costs 3 AI credits — the same cost as other Content Lab video-analysis tools.
How to run
- 1Sign in as a creator. In the dashboard sidebar menu, open Go Viral → Content Lab (desktop).
- 2Import a video: paste a public or unlisted YouTube URL, pick one from your vault, or use a video saved via the Wayo Ads Saver extension.
- 3In Video Analysis, choose Predict Content Potential / Content Potential Analysis and run it (3 credits).
- 4Read the three sub-scores, the overall Content Potential Score, and the findings and insights.
What it uses
Each analysis looks at the video’s title, packaging, and performance. The tool uses all available context.
- Title and channel name
- Engagement stats when present: views, likes, comments
- When present: title, description, and tags, plus video type (e.g. Short vs longer video), duration, and publish date
Fetched when available
- Captions
- Thumbnail description generated from the video thumbnail image
Scoring framework
The tool scores three parts of the score, then produces one overall Content Potential Score (0–100). The percentages below show how much each part counts toward the score.
Content Quality
30%- Information density and uniqueness
- Production-value signals (from caption flow when available, or inferred from engagement ratio and duration)
- Depth vs surface-level coverage
Value Proposition
30%- What the viewer gains
- Whether the promise is clear from title + thumbnail
- Whether the content likely delivers on that promise (captions when available; otherwise engagement signals such as like/view ratio and comment activity)
Viral Potential
40%- Shareability triggers in the content
- Emotional resonance (from captions when available, or from title psychology, thumbnail cues, and engagement patterns)
- Audience expansion potential beyond the core niche
What you get
Results appear in the Content Lab result screen.
- Three sub-scores — Content Quality, Value Proposition, Viral Potential — each as XX / 100 with a short justification.
- One overall Content Potential Score: XX / 100, plus a one-line verdict.
- Major sections with findings, and quotes for key insights.
Case study
Scenario

Context (inputs available)
- Title and channel name on the unlisted draft
- Title, description, and tags (≈12 min, longer tutorial); engagement stats from similar published videos as reference signals when helpful
- Captions available
- Thumbnail description available
- Cost: 3 AI credits

Score breakdown
0–100
- Content Quality82/100
- Value Proposition78/100
- Viral Potential74/100
Content Potential Score
78 / 100
Solid niche fit with a clear title promise; shareability is good but not exceptional beyond the core audience.
Content Quality
- Dense practical steps rather than vague motivation.
- Caption pacing suggests deliberate structure rather than filler.
Value Proposition
- Title + thumbnail set a specific outcome viewers can expect.
- Like/view ratio supports that the promise is largely delivered.
Viral Potential
- Share triggers are niche-specific (save/share for peers) more than mass-viral spectacle.
- Room to expand by packaging the same framework for adjacent audiences.
Takeaways
- Keep the dense practical steps — they drive the Content Quality score.
- Tighten uniqueness in the mid-section so the tutorial feels distinctive, not interchangeable.
- Package for niche shareability (save/share among peers) rather than chasing mass-viral spectacle.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this predict how many views I will get?
No. It scores quality, value clarity, and viral potential as a content-strategy evaluation. It does not forecast view counts or replace YouTube Analytics.
What if my video has no captions?
The analysis still runs. The tool uses title, stats, duration, format, and thumbnail description when available, and does not apologize for missing captions.
Can I run it on my own unlisted draft?
Yes — upload to YouTube as unlisted, paste the link in Content Lab, and run the tool. Private videos and local files without a YouTube URL are not supported.
How much does one run cost?
3 AI credits per Content Potential Analysis run, same as other Content Lab video-analysis tools.
